SETA

Silk

Italian in name, Emirati in craft — because the tradition it points to is the small atelier, and the place the abaya was perfected is the Gulf.

The house

There is no shortage of modest clothing. There is a great shortage of modest clothing that feels considered — where the inner is not an afterthought, where the scarf falls the way it should, where the abaya has been cut for a body rather than approximated for a size range.

So we design the whole outfit, not just the part the world sees.

Silk is our signature, not our only cloth. We cut in the fabrics each garment asks for — and silk appears where it matters most: a scarf, a lining, an inner worn against the skin. Wherever it is named, it is real.

The practice

The gaze

The face is never
the subject.

Our photographs study what the house makes — the fall of cloth, the weight of a hem, light passing through silk. What is withheld gives the image its power.
